Global goal 2030: Ensure healthy lives

In September 2015, 193 world leaders committed to 17 global goals to achieve 3 extraordinary issues in 2030:

  1. end extreme poverty;
  2. fight inequality & injustice;
  3. fix climate change.

In all countries. For all people. One of these 17 global goals is to ‘Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

BUT WHAT PRECISELY, IS CONSIDERED ‘HEALTHY’?

Human health is affected by multiple factors, for example influences from the living environment, the food chain and animal-human interactions. In this minor, these influences are mapped. The food chain, including animal husbandry, horticulture, agriculture and the environment, is studied in relation to consumer health. In addition, you will be working in a multidisciplinary team on a business case in the field of agriculture, food or the living environment, in order to support human health. Future professionals working in agriculture, food or the living environment will be inspired to take responsibility for human health.
